Originally awarded to captains, lieutenants and warrant officers of the army, it was subsequently extended to include equivalent ranks of the RAF when performing acts of bravery on the ground. Obverse - Plain cross, crowned royal cypher in the centre. Reverse - Plain. This reproduction Military Cross medal is made from silver plated lead-free pewter. It is supplied on a purple and white ribbon attached to a card with an image of a FE 2b being shot down by an Albatros DIII during the Battle of Arras on the front and historical information on the reverse.
