The Supermarine Spitfire displayed at the bottom was used by the Royal Air Force before, during, and after World War II. The Spitfire was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft. Spitfire P7350 is the only Spitfire which fought in the Battle of Britain still flying today.

The Hawker Hurricane displayed above the Spitfire is also a British single-seat fighter aircraft of the 1930s–40s that was designed and predominantly built for service with the (RAF). 60 per cent of the losses sustained by the Luftwaffe were inflicted by the Hurricane during the Battle of Britain. During the Second World War, it fought in all the major theatres.
